Local listening preferences
The site stores theme preference, playback speed, recently played Surahs, favourites, and the current playback position in local browser storage. This information remains on your device and can be removed by clearing site data.
Privacy-friendly analytics
When configured, Plausible measures aggregate page visits and actions such as recitation plays, completed listens, searches, video plays, outbound links, and successful form submissions. Enquiry contents, names, email addresses, and other personal fields are never sent to analytics.
Contact enquiries
Contact submissions are processed by Formspree. The submitted name, email address, enquiry type, date, and message are used only to review and respond to your enquiry. Do not include sensitive personal information.
Qur’an data and translation
The Arabic text is the Uthmani text sourced from The Noble Qur'an Encyclopedia. The English translation is Saheeh International by Umm Muhammad. The checked-in dataset is Quran JSON version 3.1.2, licensed under CC-BY-SA-4.0. Translation attribution is displayed throughout the reader and the text is protected from browser auto-translation.
A credentialed Quran Foundation synchronization adapter is included for future dataset refreshes. Any source transition must pass chapter, verse-count, Arabic-presence, translation, uniqueness, and attribution validation before release.
External services
Social, video, and charity links open third-party services with their own privacy policies. YouTube videos use privacy-enhanced embeds and are loaded only after you choose to play them. Charity contributions happen only on the selected organisation’s website; this site does not handle funds.
